The idea for Growith didn’t come overnight. It was built on years of experience, trial and error, and most importantly, feedback. My journey as a content creator started out as a passion project, and what I learned along the way became the foundation of Growith—a tool that I believe can make the road to success smoother for others.
I never intended to make money from creating content; it began as a fun way to share my love of food and travel. I traveled a lot for work, and friends constantly asked for restaurant recommendations. Instead of repeating my list over and over, I created an Instagram account to store my favorite spots in one place. What started as a hobby quickly evolved as I realized how fulfilling it was to have people join me on my journey.
At first, my content was all over the place, and it took me 3-4 years before I earned my first dollar. Slowly, I learned that feedback and insights were crucial to improving, but it wasn’t an easy journey. Comments were abundant, but real feedback? That was harder to come by. Only my close friends provided it, and while it was helpful, it didn’t always resonate with my target audience. This experience became a core part of what I wanted to build with Growith—reliable, targeted feedback from people who understand your goals.
Alongside my content journey, I co-founded another startup, Teachlr.com, a learning management system where we developed online courses for companies and consumers. Here, I learned the importance of planning, video editing, and communication. Working on this project helped me understand how essential preparation and audience-focused messaging are in producing quality content. I also grew more comfortable on camera, shedding stage fear and gaining confidence.
As my own content started gaining traction, other creators began asking me for advice. I realized that many of the insights I’d accumulated could help others avoid the mistakes I’d made. I witnessed how quickly their accounts grew when they applied my feedback, sparking the idea for Growith. With the right feedback, creators could fast-track their journey, avoiding years of trial and error.
After launching Teachlr.com, I started a new venture called Solofoodies.com, connecting influencers and creators with restaurants. Through this platform, I encountered a recurring issue: some creators had impressive follower counts but lacked the content quality and engagement needed to truly connect with their audience. My partner and I were determined to help them create better content, so every month or two, we hosted gatherings with experts in photography, storytelling, and video editing. These events gave creators valuable tools to improve their content, and the results were noticeable. Many of them saw improved performance after applying the new skills they learned.
However, the gatherings had limited spots, and scaling this format was a challenge. This experience highlighted the need for a platform that could deliver these learning opportunities more widely and consistently. We realized that with Growith, we could help creators at all levels access expert insights and actionable feedback without the constraints of in-person events. Growith became the solution to provide this kind of guidance to a larger audience, giving creators the resources to refine their work continually.
One of my biggest frustrations as a creator was putting in countless hours on content, only to see it flop. The inflection point came when I truly grasped the importance of delivering value and finding the right narrative. But this realization wasn’t something that came naturally—it required planning and understanding what the audience wanted to see.
Content creation isn’t just showing up with a camera. It’s understanding the goal, researching, and setting an objective. It’s like grocery shopping without a recipe—you might end up with ingredients, but without a plan, it’s challenging to create something great. That’s what Growith is all about: helping creators plan, test, and refine their work through feedback, so each piece is more likely to resonate with their audience.
During my time creating content, I noticed a common problem among creators and even large companies. Many were just filling the content gap without truly understanding what or how they were communicating. Internal teams often became "contaminated" by routine perspectives, and an outsider’s feedback was usually what revealed what they were doing wrong. I saw how creators could spend years in the same loop, never seeing real growth, simply because they lacked this crucial external perspective. Growith was built to be that perspective—a way for creators to receive real, actionable feedback.
The turning point for me was changing my mindset about feedback. Instead of seeing it as judgment, I began to appreciate it as a tool for growth. This shift was powerful. I realized that successful content wasn’t about what interested me personally—it was about what my audience was interested in. This lesson was crucial, and I knew it had to be a core principle of Growith. By helping creators see their work through their audience’s eyes, Growith allows them to make improvements that truly matter.
In every project I’ve taken on, I’ve seen the value of iteration. With each attempt, each improvement, every “redo,” things got better. It’s the same with public speaking; the first time is nerve-wracking, but with practice, you improve. One of my favorite quotes, "Amat Victoria Curam" (Victory Loves Preparation), embodies this idea. Creating content is no different: research, scripting, and storyboarding help produce quality work that connects with an audience.
At Growith, iteration isn’t just an idea; it’s foundational. Every time a creator receives feedback and refines their content, they’re iterating toward a better result. Iteration is where real growth happens, and it’s the philosophy behind every feature we’ve built into the app.
If I could go back and give myself advice, it would be to focus on listening to my audience and seeking out feedback early on. Without change, nothing improves. Knowledge, clarity, and understanding your target audience are essential for growth. Too often, people post content and expect instant success without putting in the work behind the scenes.
Growith was built with creators like this in mind—those who are serious about making a career out of content or using content to grow their business. I truly believe Growith will help creators gain clarity on who they’re speaking to and why their message matters. It’s not just about making content—it’s about making it meaningful.
